Leland Manley Morgan, 88, entered into his Savior’s arms surrounded by loved ones on November 8,, 2024. Born in Danielsville, GA, Mr. Morgan was the son of the late Thomas Alton Morgan and Selma Lee Bridges. Leland was also preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers. Leland served in the Army and worked as a plant manager at Westclox and Macon Electric Coil. He served his Savior faithfully as a member of Colbert Baptist Church where he was a teacher, deacon, R.A. Director and Sunday School Director. He was a loving husband to his sweetheart of 64 years, Carol Self Morgan. They built a wonderful family and life together in Colbert, Ga. He loved his children and was a passionate coach and supporter of all their activities. Leland was known by many names through his life, but upon the arrival of his grandchildrenhe became Deda to them and everyone who knew him well. He followed his 6 grandkids to every event or game always being their biggest cheerleader. His other passion in life was people;Deda never met a stranger and loved everyone. He spent his life befriending anyone in need while always saying yes to help them and never seeking any recognition for his kindness. Later in life, he loved being the official greeter at church and he never missing an opportunity to welcome and give encouragement to everyone.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two children: Ken (Dawn) Morgan and Sheri Morgan (Mike) Osborne; brother: Steve Morgan; grandchildren: Luke (Kelsey) Osborne, Kayleigh Osborne, Morgan Osborne, Taylor (Daniel) Aristizabal, Lee Morgan and Abby (Caleb) Shealy and great grandchildren: Lewie and June Osborne, Jaxon and Myla Shealy and Asa Aristizabal. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 12:00PM at Colbert Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A private interment for the immediate family will be held at Colbert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to FCA, P.O. Box 862, Colbert, GA 30628. Sincere thanks to Agape hospice services for their compassionate care and help during the last few months.
