Athens - Lela Vogel Potts of Athens and Dublin, GA, peacefully passed away on July 20, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospice House in Athens. She had recently celebrated her 88th birthday with her family. Graveside services will be at Dublin Memorial Gardens on Sunday, July 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Dr. Jack Key and Dr. Richard Mitchell will officiate.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and John Semley, Hartwell, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Cullen and Joy Potts, Corinth, MS; sister, Henrietta Vogel O'Neal of Ponte Vedra, FL; grandchildren, Alison Semley Vaughan, Lee Potts, Laura Potts Melvin, Emily Potts McCarty; and seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Vogel; brother, Donald Vogel and son, Craig Lietch Potts.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Dublin, GA and formerly a member of Henry Memorial Presbyterian Church, Dublin, GA.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Lanier Gardens, 801 Riverhill Dr., Athens, GA 30606; Henry Vogel Memorial Library, Henry Memorial Presbyterian Church, 511 Bellevue Ave., Dublin, GA 31021; St. Mary's Hospice House, 1660 Jennings Mill Rd., Bogart, GA 30622; or First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 665, Dublin, GA 31040.
Lord and Stephens, EAST is in charge of arrangements.
