Lee Holloway Hatmaker, 97, died peacefully at home on February 3, 2020.  She was born on December 5, 1922 in Coweta County, Georgia, the daughter of James Gordon and Ada Hull Holloway and the fourth of five siblings.  She attended Newnan High School and moved to Atlanta to attend the Atlanta School of Commerce and Georgia State University, known then as the University of Georgia Extension of Atlanta. While in Atlanta she met and married Elmer Hugh Hatmaker of Tennessee on June 18, 1949.

In 1950 she gave birth to her first daughter Lynn in Newnan, Georgia.  A second daughter, Elizabeth Ann, known as Libby, was born three years later in Marietta, Georgia, where the family settled to be near   Lockheed Aircraft Company, where Elmer was employed as an engineer until retirement.

During these years, Lee was a homemaker and a very talented seamstress and decorator.  She created a beautiful crocheted piecework.  For a time, she worked at the Marietta Public Library in the bindery.  She also worked at the Cobb County tag office and later owned a gift shop in Smyrna.

Lee was the last surviving member of her siblings (two brothers and two sisters).  She is survived by her daughters Lynn and Libby and her son-in-law William (Bill) Nelson, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
