Lee E. Byrd, 87, of Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Born in Cherokee County, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Nellie Thomason Hendrix. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Marvin Byrd; son, Michael M. Byrd and his wife, Sheila Byrd; grandson, Jason L. Arnold; granddaughter, Jennifer L. Arnold; brother, Stanley Hendrix; sisters, Elizabeth McIntyre, Wanda Branton and Ruth Mills and brothers-in-law, Floyd McIntyre, George Branton and Broughton Mills.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Leonard Arnold; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Debbie Byrd; grandchildren, Misty, Kristy and Tony Byrd, Michael Charles and Amber Byrd and Angela Andrews; great-grandchildren, Devon and Wilma Jean Arnold, Hailey Arnold, Dustin Gillespie, Caiden and Easton Byrd, Cameron and Kayla Ogletree, Brodie and Holden Byrd, Anna Grace and Bridget Brown and Andrew Brown; great-great grandchildren, Remington, Oakley, Grayson and Tatum Byrd, Nikalis, K’ya, Zy and Z’riah Byrd and Mayanna Brown; sisters, Jewell Stone, Melba and Bill Norwood; numerous nieces, nephews and several friends as well as special friends, Tommy and Fran Thaxton, Martha Bridges and lots of dog grandbabies.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Bethany Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael C. Byrd, Brodie Byrd, Tony Byrd, Nikalis Byrd, Joe Arnold and Kane Arnold. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:00 at the church.
