Lawrence M. Nash, 90, of Philomath passed away on December 27, 2020. Born on February 15, 1930, he was the son of the late Walter Frank Nash and Daisy Huff Nash.
Lawrence graduated from North Georgia College later attending UGA to receive his specialty degree in education. He was enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War after college. He loved to hunt, watch sports, read and spend time with his family. He retired after 32 years with Fayette County Schools where he coached football and basketball and spent time as a principal and assistant superintendent.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Annette Pittman Nash; son, John M. Nash; granddaughter, Caitlin Nash.
Survivors include his daughters, Laurie Johnson (Randall), Sharon York (Skip); grandchildren Carolyne Morris (Jon), Maegan Plossl (Erik), Kelley Elkabbani (Sharif), Jerame York (Rachel), Glennis Nash, Chris York (Julie); and his 14 great grandchildren.
A service will be held for family and close friends. Interment will take place at Philomath Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
