Lauren Leone Cunningham passed away from this earth on November 8, 2018 at her home 150 Beaverdam Road, Winterville, GA 30683. Lauren was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky on December 17, 1980, she moved to Athens with her family in 1983.
Lauren attended school at Whit Davis Elementary, Hilsman Middle School and Cedar Shoals High School. As a young girl she lived with her family in their log home on the corner of Morton and Old Lexington Road in Athens, Georgia. While there her, family and friends enjoyed hayrides and pony rides on Lauren’s birthday and gathered there often.
Lauren is survived by her daughter, Peyton Wheeler; father, John Cunningham and mother, Tess Cunningham; brother, Jordan Cunningham and sister, Misty Weaver; nieces and nephews, Taylor Cunningham, Moriah Houwers and Reese Weaver.
Her proudest accomplishment is her daughter Peyton who has many of Lauren’s traits and beauty. Lauren leaves behind beloved friends of all races, creeds and walks of life, her heart had no limits and boundaries.
As a young woman Lauren worked at many restaurants in the Athens area, making lots of friends with fellow servers and patrons alike.
Big hearts break the hardest with the help of God and friends the healing can begin.
Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, November 14, at 1pm at the Day Chapel of the Botanical Gardens in Athens to memorialize her life and recall how she touched all who knew her and loved her. God speed and God bless you Lauren.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Lauren donations can be made to Athens Mission on 2415 Jefferson Road, Athens, GA 30607 where she worked and loved supporting many with their efforts to live in recovery and happiness.
