Larry Elder

Larry W. Elder, 60, husband of Harriet Wilbanks Elder, died Thursday, February 4, 2016. Born in Fernandina Beach, FL, he was the oldest son of Peggy Elder Rice of Watkinsville and the late James Edgar Elder. Larry was a heavy equipment operator and member of Ray's United Methodist Church. He enjoyed racing cars, antique car shows, restoring and driving his 68 Chevrolet Chevelle SS and spending time in his man cave with his little buddy Luke. In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include his daughter: Salinda Wheeler Huff; sons: Billy Elder and Justin Elder; brother: Tony (Cindy) Elder and three grandchildren: Lindsay, Marley and Luke Huff. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 8, 2016 at 11AM at Ray's United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Varnado officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Osborne, Buzz Sewell, Mike Martin, Mike Holloway, Donny Elder, Shannon Elder, Danny Elder, Butch Whelan and David Williams. Following the service, the family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall.
