Watkinsville

Kristina “Kriste” Michelle Tybor Cunningham passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. We rejoice with her that she is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Kriste had an accident on March 11 while riding her horse Atlas, which led to her passing. Kriste is survived by her husband Rob Cunningham, her daughter Sidney Hosea, her new son-in-law Devin Hosea, her parents Phil and Pricilla Tybor, her siblings Phil Tybor Jr., Colette Tybor, Carmen Rivers, cousins, many nieces, nephews, and so many extended family members. She was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend.

In life, she was an avid horsewoman. At the age of 13, she was introduced to horseback riding through her sister Colette. She quickly fell in love with horses and would work at the barn where she rode in exchange for riding lessons. The Tybor family moved to Oconee County in January of 1986 and were able to have the horses on their property. Kriste has been in countless horse shows, riding dressage, and has many ribbons and awards for her efforts. Kriste was instrumental in the startup of the Oconee 4H Horse Club in 1986. She was also co-leader of the Oconee County High School Warrior Princess Program from 2015 until the program had to end in 2017.

She was a Salutatorian of the OCHS Class of 1988, a member of the Academic Team at OCHS, a member of the National Honor Society, and graduated with honors from OCHS. She received her BS in Pharmacy from The University of Georgia in 1993. She was a pharmacist until 2009 when she became a Pharmacy Analyst at Athens Regional Medical Center. At Piedmont Athens Regional she was part of a much larger team as a Pharmacy Analyst for the Epic Willow Team.

Kriste lived life fiercely, she loved fiercely, she worked fiercely, and she played fiercely. Most of all she will be missed fiercely.

A celebration of her life will be held at Watkinsville First Baptist Church on Saturday, March 27 at 2:00 PM.

Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, WEST, Watkinsville, GA, is in charge of arrangements. www.lordandstephens.com
