George Kline Wheless, 86, of Crawford, passed away on January 21, 2019.
Kline was a member of Lexington Baptist Church and owner of Wheless Grading, a company he founded in 1965 and only retired from at the age of 83. He was a cattle farmer who also showed walking horses. He loved his farm and his horses, but he loved his family more than anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph David and Gladys Black Wheless; four siblings; and a grandson, Christopher Kline Watts.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Sanders Wheless; four children: Kathy (Danny) Little of Crawford, Carolyn (Tim) Poole of Farmington, Tommy (Carol) Wheless of Crawford, Candie (Anthony) Watts of Crawford; six grandchildren: Joey Doolittle, Kyle Little, Jenny Petersen, Josh Poole, Taylor Smith, and Beau Watts; one great-grandchild, Lacie Doolittle; one sister, Mary Mathis of Watkinsville; and one nephew, Homer Chasteen of Comer.
A private family funeral service will be held and followed by a public visitation on Wednesday, January 23, from 2:30 until 4:30 p.m. at Lexington Baptist Church.
