Athens - Kenneth Eugene Watson, 78, husband of Sara Vaughn Watson, died Monday, May 29, 2006 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Watson was born in Habersham County to the late Hoyt and Amy Church Watson. He retired from Devore and Johnson Inc. and was part owner of a residential construction company. Kenneth was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church and served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Mr. Watson found great pleasure in watching his children and grandchildren growing up and being involved in sports, church and other events during their lives.
In addition to Mr. Watsonís wife, he is survived by his sons and daughter in laws; Kenneth and Jan Watson, Jr. of Big Canoe, GA, Monty and Gaye Watson of Duluth, GA, Tim and Sandra Watson of Athens, GA, sisters and brother in law; June Tench of Gainesville, GA, Patsy and Alvin Ellis of Redan, GA and seven grandchildren; Taylor, Matt, Chip, Andy Wade, Alan and Ashley Watson.
Funeral services will be held 11AM, Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Prince Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Ricketts officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Prince Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
