Kenneth Grimes, age 79, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2013, surrounded by his family.
Ken was born in Coconut Grove, Fla., and attended Tech High, in Miami, Fla., when he met and married his wife of 56 years, Rowena, who preceded him in death in 2009.
Ken was an avid fisherman and holds numerous line class fishing records. He served as president of the Miami Beach Rod & Reel Club, won the Bertram-Hatteras Shootout in 1988, and was a member of the Propeller Club of Miami and the Miami Vocational Education Center.
He served as Deacon at Coral Baptist Church, in Miami, and the First Baptist Church of Beverly Hills, Fla.
Ken was employed with the Caterpillar dealership in Miami, Kelly Tractor Company / Pantropic Power Products, for over 40 years, and served on the Board of Directors of Pantropic.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie; step-daughter, Cheri (Tom) Carter; children, Steve (Suzi) Grimes, Bob (Sharon) Grimes, and Karen (Kevin) Murphy; grandchildren, Justin (Nikita), Jessica, Jack, John, Kevin, and Connor; and great-grandchildren, Kara and Jude.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, at Gulf to Lake Church, 1454 North Gulf Avenue, Crystal River, Fla.
