Athens, GA - Kay Lovell Turpin, 56, went home to be with the Lord on March 4, 2007.
Born in Stephens County, she was the daughter of Byree (Bob) Martin Lovell and the late D.L. Lovell of Toccoa, GA. Kay was a 1968 graduate of Toccoa High School and worked for a number of years with Wrights Manufacturing. While in Toccoa, she was a member of Toccoa First United Methodist Church. She has made her home in Athens since 1984 and was retired from Northeast Georgia Mental Health with 22 years of service. Kay was a member of Athens First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST, with Dr. Bill Britt officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 PM in Stephens Memorial Gardens, Toccoa with Rev. Charles Ritter officiating.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband of 33 years, Richard Turpin; daughter and son in law, Elizabeth Lynn and Brian Andrew Frederick and granddaughter, Brianna Lynn Frederick, all of Athens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.
Flowers are optional. Memorials in the name of "Kay" may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or St. Jude's Hospital for Children.
