Kay Bufford Butler, 75, died Sunday March 16, 2014 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native of Green County, she was the daughter of the late Julius F. and Hattie Bryan Bufford. After graduating from Greensboro High School, Kay received her associates from Reinhardt University. She retired as Vice President and Credit Officer from SunTrust Bank after 40 years. She also served as branch manager of SunTrust Bank on Prince Avenue. She was a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, was very active with the March of Dimes and a member of the Credit Women's Association.
Survivors include her husband Jerry L. Butler; daughters and sons: Janet and Doug Cassiday of Maysville, Andrea and David Downs of Watkinsville; brother: Harry Bufford of Greensboro; sister: Elizabeth "Liz" Berg of Columbia, SC and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Richard Moeller officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, you may give in her honor to March of Dimes, or American Diabetes Association.
