Kathryn Duke Durkee, age 55, passed away October 22, 2013. Kathryn was preceded in death by her father, Garland Thomas Duke, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, W.X. "Sonny" Durkee; daughter, Ashley Jean (Jake) Lowery; mother, Jean DeRamus Duke; sisters, Karen Duke (Fred) Schuller, Carol Duke (Charlie) Rymer; brothers, Garland Thomas (Shonda) Duke III, Steven William (Ashley) Duke; and granddaughter, Lyla Karen Lowery; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4PM on Sunday, October 27, 2013 in the chapel of Athens First United Methodist Church, 327 N. Lumpkin St., Athens, GA 30601 with Dr. G. Gil Watson and Rev. Martha Aenchbacher officiating. The family will receive friends in the John Wesley room immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice House, P.O. Box 6588, Athens, GA 30604.
