Kathleen Magruder Edwards

Kathleen M. “Kathy” Edwards, 84, of Crawford, died on Sunday, June 30, 2024. 

Born in Washington, D.C. on July 3, 1939, Kathy was the daughter of Harry Frederick Magruder and Elizabeth Jane O’Roark Magruder. 

Kathy loved butterflies. She thought of them as symbols of Christ’s life. They begin as ones moving along on the earth, they go into a cocoon, and then emerge as a new, beautiful, free, blessed being. 

Kathy was a true blue and orange Auburn fan. She always cared for others. She faithfully believed in the power of prayer. 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady F. “Buddy” Edwards, Jr. 

Kathy is survived by two daughters: Kathleen Elizabeth Parks (Donald) and Sandra Sarratt (Bob); four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Grady F. “Buddy” Edwards, Jr. Memorial NROTC Scholarship Fund, 317 South College Street, Auburn, AL 36849.
