Katherine Kenimer Weatherford

Katherine Kenimer Weatherford, 88, passed away at home in Oxford, GA with her family by her side on Saturday, June 13, 2020.

She was the middle daughter of the late Martha and Victor Kenimer born on April 18, 1932.

Katherine was raised in Bishop, Georgia, graduated from Oconee County High School and attended 2 years of college at Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, Ga.

She was married to Lawrence (Larry) E Weatherford for 70 years.

She was an extraordinary artist and loved all animals.  Her greatest love (besides her husband, girls and grandchildren) was gardening. She loved flowers and was happiest at home, outside among her flowers.

Her love for her family knew no bounds. She was a beloved wife, a devoted mother and an incredible grandmother. She was compassionate, loving, and forgiving. She taught her children and grandchildren about courage and perseverance through her actions.

Katherine is survived by her husband, Larry; her sister, Elizabeth Thomas of Conyers; her daughters: Vickie Thompson of Superior, CO, Patti Patterson of Conyers, GA, and Beth Weatherford (Debbra Gordon) of Oxford, GA; her grandchildren: Katie Thompson, Eric Thompson (Meghan), Christopher Bowles (Jess); and great-grandchild Samuel.

Katherine was predeceased by her sister, Mary Hannah Thomas.

Due to restrictions of the coronavirus, a private family service will be held on Thursday, June 18.

Because of Katherine’s love of flowers, the family graciously accepts flowers or donations to the Bishop Cemetery Fund at Bishop City Hall, P. O. Box 196, Bishop, GA  30621.
