Katherine Andert, born November 17, 1919 in Lisbon, Ohio, to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth M. Parsley, Sr., died February 5, 2016.
She attended Ohio State University and was initiated into the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She completed a bachelor's and earned a master's degree from the University of Illinois, majoring in Elementary Education. She taught in the Champaign Community Schools for twenty years and was an education consultant for the state of Illinois for a number of years.
She was an active member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority alum club. In 2014, she received the Diamond Arrow Society award for 75 years of membership. She as a docent at Krannert Art Museum and an active member of the University of Illinois Alumnae Board of the College of Education.
She married Thomas Leroy Andert of St. Louis, Missouri on October 20, 1943. They were married for 68 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, and her brother, Kenneth M. Parsley, Jr.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, her three children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
