Hartwell, GA - Clarence Murphy Bryant, Jr., 64, died December 9, 2006.
A native of Greene County, GA, he was a son of Rachel Allen O'Sheal of Athens, and the late Clarence Bryant, Sr., and was preceded in death by a grandson, Chance Mills. Mr. Bryant was of the Baptist faith and for many years was known in this area as "The Bicycle Man".
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 13, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Union Point, GA.
Survivors in addition to his mother include three children, Mary Fowler, Murphy Bryant and Margie Herring, all of Hartwell; brother, Tommy Bryant of Lexington; sister, Ellen Griggs of Athens; six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his son, Murphy, his brother, Tommy and four cousins.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
