June Price McKinney, 89, wife of William Hardy McKinney, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014.
A native of Double Branches, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Marshall Price, Jr. and Elsie Blanchard Price. She was a homemaker and charter member of Green Acres Baptist Church where she was very involved. She truly loved working with the children of Green Acres through the Beginners Choir and Wednesday night suppers. Fishing, gardening, reading, and cooking were some of her favorite activities. She was a loving wife and adored her children, grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marsha McKinney (Ralph) Beadle of Baton Rouge, LA, son, William P. (Susan) McKinney of Winterville; grandchildren: Christy Beadle Ashenfelter, Andy (Renee) Beadle, Margaret Beadle (Zac) Larrimer, Clint P. (Kate) McKinney, Chris W. (Heather) McKinney and Katie McKinney, seven great grandchildren, sister-in-laws Rose Mary Price of Aiken, SC and Jeanne Israel of Gardendale, AL . She was preceded in death by her sister Frocie Rountree and two brothers John M. Price, III and Robert J. Price.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Morningside Assisted Living and Homestead Hospice for their excellent service and care.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Green Acres Baptist Church at 4PM with Dr. Charles A. "Buddy" Parrish officiating. A private burial will be held Sunday, June 29, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Green Acres Baptist Church Growth Fund, 2085 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
