Julia Hardman Colquitt, a beloved member of the community, passed away on July 2, 2024, at the age of 95. She was born on June 22, 1929, in Oglethorpe County, Georgia, to her late parents Julius Albert and Agnes Mae Harris Hardman. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Carol Ann Colquitt, granddaughter, Katie Colquitt and brother, Guy Hardman.

Julia lived a fulfilling life as a longtime resident of Athens and more recently as a cherished member of Magnolia Estates Assisted Living in Winder. She found joy in playing cards and board games and was known for her warm smile and kind heart. Julia's faith was important to her, and she was a longtime member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church in Oglethorpe County.

In 2012, Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Levis H. Colquitt. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Mike Sims of Winder, her son Albert Colquitt of Winterville, her brother Ray Hardman (Roberta) of Hoover, AL, as well as her grandchildren: Chris (Julie) Colquitt, Kellie (Jason) Creel, and Matt (Wendy) Sims and her great-grandchildren Carter Colquitt, Eloisa Colquitt, Johanna Colquitt, Luke Sims, and Cooper Creel.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Lord and Stephens, EAST on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 beginning at 2:00 PM.  A service will follow in the chapel at 3:00 PM with Rev. Terry James officiating. Julia will be buried next to her late husband at Sandy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers honoring Julia will include Chris Colquitt, Carter Colquitt, Matt Sims, Mike Sims, Al Colquitt, and Jason Creel. Luke Sims and Cooper Creel will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sandy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery Fund by mailing donations to SCBC at 1071 Athens Road, Crawford, GA 30630.

Julia's kindness and gentle spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
