Josephine Palmer Strickland, 82, died October 19, 2005.
A longtime resident of Comer, GA, she was a daughter of the late Ruth Sutton and Clark Howell Palmer, and the widow of Julian L. Strickland. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jayne Cown and brother, Kent Palmer. Mrs. Strickland was a homemaker and a member of Comer United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be Saturday, October 22, 2005, at 11:00 AM at Comer United Methodist Church. Rev. Mike McLemore and Dr. Carlton Allen will officiate.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth L. and Frances B. Strickland of Morganton, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Sammy Thomason of Commerce; son, Keith Strickland of Key West, FL; granddaughters, Laura Van Patten of Smyrna, Erin Strickland of Charleston, SC and Ashley Strickland of Asheville, NC; sisters, Betty Bailey of Calhoun, GA, Billie Causey of Loganville, GA, Norma Palmer of Lighthouse Point, FL, and Anne Moore of Loganville, GA; brother, Howell Palmer of Loganville, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Willis C. and Mary H. Strickland of Comer, GA; a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Comer United Methodist Church.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
