Joseph Thomas Watson, Jr.

Joseph Thomas Watson, Jr., cherished husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the age of 52.

Born in Kentucky, he was a son of Joseph Thomas Watson, Sr. and Mary Theresa Newkirk Watson. Joey was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for the lake, boating and fishing. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Claire Watson and Mary Newkirk.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Lynn Watson; four sons, Josh Mixon (Allison), Tyler Watson (Kensea Fowler), Lane Watson (Lily Smith) and Anthony Watson (Megan); two grandsons, Grant Mixon and Cohen Mixon; two sisters, Tara Meadows (Mike) and Tiffany Neumeyer and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, East, 4355 Lexington Road, Athens, GA 30605.
