Joseph Louis Metzger

Joseph Louis Metzger, 86, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, surrounded by his family. He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He was born May 6, 1938 in Lansing Michigan. Joseph was the son of the late Joseph Ludwig Metzger and Marjorie Geradine Metzger. Also, preceding him in death is his wife, Beverly Alice Metzger; and sisters, Janice Youngs, Joyce Covell, and JoAnn Cichecki.

Survived by his loving children; daughter, Denise Beckwith (Dan) of Flowery Branch; son, Joseph Metzger of Jefferson; grandchildren, Courtney Power (Ben) and Austin Beckwith; great grandchildren Noah, Titus, and Bowen, all of whom he loved dearly.

Joseph lived in Charlotte Michigan most of his life until recently relocating to Jefferson to be with his family. For thirty years he was part owner of Applegate Heating and Cooling. He then decided to start his own business, BJ’s insulation.

Joseph served in the U.S Army. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing, along with raising his six horses, with a soft spot for Princess and Casey.

Services will be announced at a later date to be held in Michigan.
