Joseph Gillespie

Joseph Gillespie, 93, of Athens passed away on December 24, 2020. Born on March 31, 1927 , he was the son of the late Ulysses Grant Gillespie and Sarah Key.

Joe was an Army veteran serving in WWII.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lou Gillespie; son, Phillip Grant Gillespie; many brothers and sister.

Survivors include his daughters, Carol Dellinger (John), Susan Cronic (Paul); sister, Frances Boon; grandchildren, Todd Dellinger, Duane Cronic, Michael Cronic, Chad Gillespie, Gennie Dearing; great grandchildren, Shuanne Dellinger, Morgan Dellinger, Sarah Grace Gillespie, Evan Gillespie, Tucker Dearing, Seth Cronic, Daxton Cronic, Blaine Cronic; great-great grandchild Caroline Dellinger.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Memorial Park with Pastor Robbie Brown officiating.
