Joseph Cole Epps, 19, of Athens, Georgia passed away on August 21, 2023, with his family by his side.
Born August 11, 2004, in Clarke County, he was the son of Anthony O’Neal Epps and Dawn Hutton-Epps. Cole was a quiet, soft-spoken soul. He enjoyed skateboarding, playing guitar, reading books, working on cars with his brother, attending Car Shows around the NEGA area and video games. He loved his job at Kroger in the Floral Department. He loved helping others no matter the task. Cole was active in the Hilsman Middle and Cedar Shoals band as a trombone player. He played many rounds of golf on the Cedar Shoals Golf team and participated in Cub Scouts and Boys Scouts. He graduated from Cedar Shoals High School in 2022.
Cole was preceded in death by his grandparents Curtis O’Neal and Reba Lee Epps (Athens). He is survived by his parents; Two siblings: Chris D. Epps and, Miriah Epps - Cain (Jimmy) of Athens; Grandfather: Rodney Hutton ( New Castle, Virginia); Grandmother: Dale Thompson ( Howard) of Madison; Aunts and Uncles: Amanda Thompson Mealor ( Derrick), Dana Epps (Athens), Jody Hutton, Joey Hutton (Teanna) all of Virginia, David C. Epps (Athens) and Kathy Epps McMahan (Athens); Two nephews: Aiden and Ethan Walker.
A celebration of life will be held at the Pittard Park large Pavilion, in Winterville on Sunday September 24, 2023, starting at 1:00 PM. Food and festivities will follow the celebration of life at 1:30 PM until 4:00 PM.
