Jose Luis Montanez-Villafane

José Luis Montañez Villafañe of (technically) Watkinsville, GA, but really of San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico passed away on December 21, 2022. He was born to the late Andrés Montañez de la Cruz and Juana Villafañe Vazquez. He is also preceded by a sister: Rosita Montañez Villlafañe (married to Hector Gonzalez Torres) and survived by his sister Milagros Montañez Villafañe (married to Reinaldo Nieves Navarro) and brother Carlos Montañez Villafañe. At the age of 17, José moved to the contiguous US. On June 29, 1974, he married Isabel Hernandez Torres. Sometime later, they became parents of Jenny Montañez, and several years after that, the parents of José Montañez, Jr. José was a jack of all trades but more importantly a husband, a father, a grandfather, a son, an uncle, a friend, and most importantly, a child of God. He enjoyed his church, the Red Sox, making his family and friends crack up, cooking, looking for opportunities to help anyone, going out to eat, playing dominoes, helping people find their family, grilling, and bringing laughter to every gathering. He is survived by his wife Isabel Hernandez Torres, his 2 children: Jenny Montañez and José Luis Montañez, Jr. (married to Rachel Montañez), and their 2 granddaughters: Michaela Alongi and Abigail Montañez.
