Remember the life, death, and legacy of Joe
Jose Garcia, 61, of Comer, Ga, formerly of Pagosa Springs, Co died February
20, 2016 at home peacefully asleep. He was a beloved husband, father,
grandfather, brother and friend to many; whether you knew him as Joe,
Johnny, Daddy, or Buelo he was an incredible man with a giant heart who
never met a stranger.
Son of Juan Fred Garcia and Celida Mary Villapando Garcia. Joe is
survived by his wife Cindy Garcia, children Jody Garcia Sanchez and her
husband Jesus Sanchez Penaloza and their two children Isabella and Mariana
de Jesus, Tashina Garcia Webster and he husband William Webster and their
two children Gabriella and Sadie, Nickolas Garcia, and Nakia Garcia and his
wife Crystal Garcia and their two children Adriel Jose and Jordin, Annette
Bauer and her husband Bruce Bauer, Steve Patton and his two children Zoe
and Zach. He is survived by his siblings, Gloria Carpenter, Grace
Carpenter, Linda Crusie Lujan, Christine Lujan, Andy Garcia, Joaquin
Garcia, and Marion Villapando.
Joe was a retired veteran of the Vietnam War serving the navy twenty plus
years. After his retirement, Joe worked several different jobs. It was not
until he moved to Comer and started working for Transco did he feel he
found the perfect job for himself. Although he was retired, he was proud
of his time he served and always said he would go back if he could. He was
one of the biggest supporters of his fellow service members and well known
for his Veterans' Memorial he made outside of his home.
Joe faded from us slowly this past year. The ups and downs, the crying and
fighting, the happy days and bad days, but this man was a fighter. This man
turned his life around and removed the evil in his life. He gave up on his
faith for a while but he got it back and was able to find peace within
himself, his children, friends, family, and most importantly God. Remember
Joe for the man he found himself to be and know that he is in a better place.
