Jon Edwin Llewallyn Sr

Jon Edwin Llewallyn Sr., 81, of Winterville, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017.
Born in Athens, he was a son of the late Vester Mervin Llewallyn and Georgia Hammond Llewallyn. Mr. Llewallyn worked as a Manager for Kroger for over forty years, and was a member of East Athens Baptist Church. He was part of the Llewallyn Family Singers for over ten years. Mr. Llewallyn enjoyed traveling, especially to the mountains. Most importantly, he was a dedicated family man. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Margie Escoe Llewallyn; son, Mervin Llewallyn and two siblings and their spouses, Garnett Llewallyn (Sarah) and Betty Randolph (Fred).
Survivors include two sons, Jon Edwin Llewallyn Jr. (Wanda) and Keith Llewallyn; one sister, Vesta Ann Hopkins (Ronnie); one sister-in-law, Beatrice Llewallyn; four grandchildren, Kevin Llewallyn (Ashleigh), Zach Llewallyn, Kelley Benkoski (Joseph) and Tyler Llewallyn; three great grandchildren, Bridgette Llewallyn and Emerson Grace Llewallyn and Brantley Benkoski and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, East. Interment will follow at Oconee Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Llewallyn, Zach Llewallyn, Tyler Llewallyn, Randy Randolph, Bubba Llewallyn, Duke Llewallyn and Kelley Benkoski. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
