John E. Verostko, 93 died Saturday, May 14, 2016. Born in Tarrs, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John Frank Verostko and Mary Veronica Verostko. In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Katherine Verostko and three brothers: George, Bernard and William Verostko. He served in the US Army during WWII in Panama from 1942 until 1945. John retired from Sears in 1984 as manager of Sporting Goods. Following retirement he and Helen, travelled the country in their motor home until settling down in Georgia. He was always outgoing, never meet a stranger, always to help anyone in need and was a very devout catholic. Survivors include his daughters; Rita Hollifield of Ohio, Marylou Barker of Ohio, Veronica (Scott) Rejman of Ohio and Sharon (Doug) Miller of Danielsville; grandchildren: John, Dawn, Douglas, Danielle, John, Jamie, Rebecca, Michael, Elizabeth and Deanna; twenty one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11AM at St. Josephs Catholic Church with burial to follow at Danielsville Memorial Gardens.
