John Taylor Wood

John Taylor Wood, 73, died Saturday, February 19, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Franklin County , he was the son of the late Elisha Marion and Lura Phillips Wood. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Austin Wood, Robert Wood, Eugene Wood and sisters, Donnie Wood, Inez Grizzle and Frances Wood. John retired from Oconee County Sherriff's Department as a deputy and had also worked with Madison and Oglethorpe County Sherriff's Departments. He was the owner and operator of Georgia Security Agency. John loved riding his motorcycle.
Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Judy and Tim Wilson, son, Randy Wood and son and daughter in law, Mark and Michelle Wood all of Danielsville; brothers and sisters in law: Edward and Laura Mae Wood of Oconee County, Donald and Betty Ann Wood of Danielsville; grandchildren: Chris Wilson, Adam Wood (wife- Kayla); great grandchildren: Tyland Ray Wilson, Arianna Raeann Wilson, Elizabeth Nevaeh Wood and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens Danielsville Chapel with Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Burial will follow at Middle River Baptist Church .
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday, February 21, 2011 at the funeral home.
