John Leland Sybrandt, III

John Leland Sybrandt, III, 85, husband of 62 years to Karen Hall Sybrandt, died on August 14, 2023. Born in Evanston, IL, he was the son of the late John Leland Sybrandt, Jr and Dorothy Nadine Trego Sybrandt. John retired from Southern Mutual Insurance after 17 years as the Vice President of Marketing. He honorably served in the US Army and the US Marine Corp and was a member of St. Stephens Anglican Catholic Church. In addition to his wife Karen, survivors include three sons and daughter’s in law: John and Teresa Sybrandt, David and Sharon Sybrandt and Mark and Melissa Sybrandt; sister and brother in law: Gail and Nick Anderson; four grandchildren: Karissa, John Thomas, Peyton and Austin and one great granddaughter, Piper. A memorial service celebrating John’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11:30AM at St. Stephens Anglican Catholic Church with Bishop Mark Haverland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested in John’s honor that donations be made to Marine Corps League Detachment 1083, Athens, GA.
