John David Nation, 51, of Crawford, died February 19, 2015.
Born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, he was raised in the Devils Pond Community of Oglethorpe County. David was a construction worker and loved operating heavy equipment. He was an avid boxer and participated in many matches at the Night Owl and Armadillo Palace.
David is survived by his parents, Claude and Ann Nation; his biological father, George Roberson; children, Kimberly Nation of New Jersey and Cory Nation of Florida; brother, George Edward (Eddie) Nation of Lexington; sister, Lora Nation Mazzone (Paul) of Crawford; grandson, Jared Nation and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, February 23, from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.
followed by services in the chapel Tuesday at 2:00 PM. Walter McCannon will officiate the service.
Pallbearers will be Ross Henderson, Jr., Paul Mazzone, Winston Westbrook, Rocky Nation, Ray Nation, Benji Smith and Jack Brown. Shane Chandler will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Burial will be in Welcome Avenue Church Cemetery.
