John Edward Mercer

John Edward Mercer, 95, husband of 64 years to the late Margaret Earline Mercer, died on Thursday, June 22, 2023.

Born in Center, GA, he was the son of the late William Neal “Bud” Mercer and Mary Gary Mercer and brother to two sisters and one brother, now also deceased. John was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and received Christ at age 42. He retired from Westinghouse.

Survivors include three children, Carol (Dale) Bishop, of Bishop, Dr. Dwayne (Pam) Mercer, of Orlando, FL, and Barry (Alexandria) Mercer, of Flowery Branch, ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, West chapel with Dr. Dwayne Mercer officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
