Bogart, GA - John Wiley McKinney, 80, died April 29, 2007.
A native of Rebecca, GA, Mr. McKinney lived in this area for the last thirty-six years. He was a son of the late Joseph Henry and Lanora Martin McKinney and was preceded in death by a son, John Gregory McKinney. He was retired from USDA and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II. Mr. McKinney was a member of Victory Baptist Church for many years.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST, with Revs. Edgar Croft, Buford Lockman and Larry Townsend officiating. Interment will be in Oconee Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth McKinney; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lanell and Kenneth Reynolds, Tammy and Dennis Gunter, all of Statham; two sisters, Farris Warren of Coolidge, GA and Dorothy Croft of Pavo, GA; four grandchildren, Gregory Reynolds, Nicki Reynolds, Brittany Gunter and Wade Gunter; one great-grandchild, McKenzie Reynolds; a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
