John Richard "Ricky" McElroy

John Richard "Ricky" McElroy, 56, of Winterville, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015.
Born in Athens he was the son of John Rufus and Guynelle McElroy and the late Loretta Elaine Ramos. Ricky was owner and operator of Custom Lifts in Royston, and a member of the Elks Club. He loved to ride Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Ricky also had a love for animals, but most of all, he loved his family. In addition to his mother, Ricky was preceded in death by his grandparents, Winfred and Annie Autry, and Johnny and Ellie McElroy.
Survivors in addition to his father include his girlfriend, Carole Cape; five brothers, Mike (Diane) McElroy, Max (Tricia) Peck, Chris (Anita) Peck; two sisters, Linda (Stoney) Birt, Terri (Rick) Morgan; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens, East with Rev. Dan Fuller officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael McElroy, Stone Birt, Stoney Birt, Max Peck, Chris Peck and Brent Carey. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
