John A. Helms

John A. Helms, 59, of Danielsville, Georgia passed away March 23, 2019. Born in Athens, Georgia on September 9, 1959, he was the son of Walter Helms, Sr. and Gennie Bell Strickland Helms. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from the granite industry.

He was preceded in death by his father, his daughter, Melissa Ann Helms Lunsford, and his brother Walter Helms, Jr.

He is survived by his mother, siblings Bonnie (Brett) Kittle, Richard Helms, Douglas (Evelyn) Helms, and Patricia (Keith) Seymour, grandchildren Abigail Lunsford and Liam Lunsford, a number of nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and great- nephews, son-in-law Donnie Lunsford, and sister-in-law Carol Helms

A memorial service was held on March 29, 2019 at Antioch Baptist Church in Elberton, Georgia with Rev. Ken Thrift officiating. A private burial followed at Antioch on April 1, 2019.
