John David Edwards, 36, died Monday, February 25, 2013.
A native of Athens, he was the son of Ken and Rita Edwards of Athens. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents George W. Marlow and Margaret F. Marlow and paternal grandfather Emory H. Edwards. David was a school bus driver for the Oconee County Board of Education. He was always willing to help anyone in need. His children were the love of his life and he enjoyed taking them fishing, camping and horseback riding.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his children: Sarah Michelle and Joshua David Edwards; brothers: Ronnie, Michael and Steven Edwards; paternal grandmother: Dorothy Floyd Edwards and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 3PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Carlton Shelton, Rev. Ray Wuerzer and Dr. Charles A. "Buddy" Parrish. Burial will follow at Oconee Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brent Christopher, Stacy Barber, Chuck Couch, Frankie Reid, Mike Gary, Jamie Phillips and Phil Wilbanks. Honorary pallbearers will be the Oconee County School Bus Drivers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 Friday, March 1, 2013 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Georgia United Credit Union for David's children, Sarah and Joshua.
