John Steven Conwell

John Steven Conwell passed away November 9, 2021.

John was born in Charleston, SC in August of 1944. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving under President Kennedy in the ARADCOM as a Nike Hercules missile battery crewman.

He began his career in law enforcement in 1969 with the Bogart Police Department and went on to serve in many cities in the North Georgia area including Rutledge, Madison, Monroe, Loganville, Watkinsville, Winder and Statham. He also served with the Clarke and Morgan County Sheriff’s Offices, retiring from Morgan County in 2006.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Julian Veo and Nancy Lorene Hughes Conwell and, in 2008, his wife of thirty-six years, Glenda Ann Hammond. He is survived by his son, Steve, his daughter, Sonya and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Makenzie.
