Joe Boyd Huff, 85, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021.
A lifelong resident of Farmington, Joe was a son of the late Lee Herschel Huff and Ruth Christian Huff. He served in the Army National Reserves for three and a half years. Joe attended North Georgia Trade and Vocational School in Clarkesville and graduated in 1958 with a degree in refrigeration repair. He retired from Coca-Cola after thirty-two and a half years to care for his mother. Joe was a member of Freeman Creek Baptist Church where he was a Deacon since 1979. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ed, Eugene “Gene”, Franklin “Bro” and Victor “Vic”; sisters, Alice Pritchett and Hilda Colley.
Survivors include siblings, Louvie Ruark and Glenda (Darrell) Gabriel; nieces and nephews, Herschel Pritchett, Dennis Pritchett, Johnny Pritchett, Cindy Colley Savage, Barry Ruark, Walter Ruark, Mike Ruark, Terry Ruark, Doug Ruark, Ricky Ruark, Wanda Nance, Bettie Ruark, Brenda Huff Jones, Alicia Davis, Todd Huff, Rodney Huff, Vickie Leigh Huff, Frankie Gabriel, Marsha Gabriel Pond and David Gabriel.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 13, 2021 at 6:00 pm at Freeman Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Farmington Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:30 until 5:30 pm at the church and from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Herschel Pritchett, Dennis Pritchett, Doug Ruark, Mike Ruark, Rodney Huff and Frankie Gabriel.
