Danielsville, GA - Joann Shaw Allen, 75, died Thursday, December 18, 2008.
A native and lifelong resident of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Ben B. and Mary Odessa Davis. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Shaw, as well as two brothers, William C. Davis and Ben Davis, Jr. She was a pediatric nurse at Athens Regional Medical Center, where she retired after twenty-seven years.
Graveside services will be Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Dan Fuller officiating.
Survivors include her husband, William Neal Allen; children, Debi Shaw of Winterville, Brad (Michelle) Shaw of Danielsville, Cheryl (Lanier) Simmons of Danielsville; sister, Frances Edwards of Athens; brother, Cecil Davis of Athens; grandchildren, Alan (Adriane) Simmons, Renea Simmons and Ryan Simmons; great grandchild, Walker Simmons; special companions, Bo, Rocky, Chase and Callie.
Pallbearers will be Mike Horne, Stanley Williams, John DeVore, Brad Williams, Toby Hines and Ricky Scarborough.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
