Joan Cartee Moore, of Watkinsville passed away Friday, October 29, 2021.  Born on November 30, 1944, Joan was the daughter of Minnie Roper Cartee and James Broadus Cartee of Greer, South Carolina.  Joan was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers (Olin Cartee and Junior Cartee).  Joan’s older sister (Margaret Howard) currently resides in Greer.  Joan was a cum laude graduate of The University of Georgia with a bachelor’s in business administration and a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.  She spent most of her professional career in the textile industry as a Human Resources and Personnel Manager who invested in others and offered support to the individual growth and development of fellow associates.  She raised 2 boys (Mark and Greg) and poured everything she had into them.  She was a dedicated wife to Charles for 55 years.  Joan was a longtime member of Watkinsville First Christian Church where she served on the Diaconate, sang in the choir, taught Children’s Church, taught Adult Sunday School, and assisted with various church functions.  Joan enjoyed reading on the beach, going to the lake, volunteering at ACTS, and entertaining family and friends.  She had an infectious smile and selfless approach to life that made others feel special.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Watkinsville First Christian Church and ACTS.  Survived by husband Charles, sons Mark and Greg (Jessica) and grandchildren, Jett, and Charlee.

Funeral services were held with friends and family at Lord and Stephens West and Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
