Joan Anderson Cheek, 85, of Comer, GA, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014.
A native of Norcross, GA, Mrs. Cheek was the daughter of the late Ralph Victor Anderson and Marie Gregory Anderson and was preceded in death by her husband, Bun Joe Cheek, son-in-law, John C. Collier, a sister, Judy Smith; granddaughter, Victoria Leighanne Runyan.
Survivors include four children, Linda C. Collier (Charles Fouche) of Colbert, David J. Cheek (Betsy) of Nicholson, Peggie E. Queen (David) of Cumming, Robin V. Runyan of Comer; nine grandchildren, Andy Collier (Missy), Brook Collier (Gwen), McClaine Cheek, Kenneth Childers (Patti), Julie Anna Queen, (Alexci), Phil Queen, Zack Runyan, Josh Runyan, Taralee Runyan and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cheek was an active member of Colbert First Baptist Church and a member of the Fidelis Ladies Sunday School Class. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Saints Alive from Colbert Baptist Church.
Memorial services will be at Colbert Baptist Church on February 19, 2014 at 3:00pm with Pastor Brad Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Colbert Baptist Church Bus Fund or the Madison/Oglethorpe Animal Shelter.
