Athens - Joan Anders Benton, 65, passed away July 18, 2008.
A native of Trumann, Arkansas, she was a daughter of the late Alene Randall Cousins and Dewitt Anders. Mrs. Benton was a teacher at Chase Street Elementary School for 20 years.
Survivors include her children, Jason Benton of Athens, Eric (Krissie) Benton of Watkinsville, and Angela Carpe of Hawaii; sisters, Elizabeth Urbaniak and Raye Ann Sedillo, both of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Ashley and Mitchell; a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chase Street Elementary School Library.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
