Colbert - Jimmy Charles Simmons, 60, died Friday, September 3, 2010 after an extended illness.
Born in Athens , he was the son of the late Aubrey and Anne Simmons. He was previously employed by Nakanishi as a machinist and had previously been a Madison County Little League Coach. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother William Simmons.
Survivors include his wife, Lynne Simmons, sons, Christopher Simmons and Bryan Simmons, sister, Elaine McDonald of Comer, brother, Aubrey "Sonny" Simmons of Bogart, brothers and sisters in laws, Almond and Sally Christian of Loganville, Kenneth and Gale Christian of Dahlonega, Diana Bennetti of Loganville, mother in law Hannelore Christian of Dahlonega with multiple nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens Danielsville Chapel with Rev. Terry Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family will be gathering at their respective residences.
