Arnoldsville - James Steven Holloway, 23, died April 26, 2009.
A native of Oglethorpe County, he was a son of Steve and Jackie Holloway of Winterville. He attended Oglethorpe County High School and North Georgia Technical College and was a member of Lexington Baptist Church. Mr. Holloway entered boot camp in the United States Marine Corps in 2005 and served one tour of duty in Iraq. He served a total of four years and one month in the Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Dorothy Holloway, formerly of Winterville.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 30, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST, with Rev. Jim Waller officiating. Interment will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Maggie; daughter, Abigail James Holloway; sister, Rebecca Holloway; brother, Joshua Holloway, both of Winterville; grandparents, Gilbert and Jean Underwood of Crawford; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Memorials may be made to a college scholarship fund to be established, c/o Pinnacle Bank, or the American Cancer Society .
