Jimmy Van Hayes of Orlando, Florida passed to heaven on February 10,2016. He was 54 years old. Van was employed by AMVETS up until the time of his diagnosis with brain cancer. He also lived in Athens, Rome, & the Atlanta area. He attended West Rome High School, Berry College & graduated with honors from Herzing College.
He is survived by his parents Rev. Archie & Mrs. Mary Ann Hayes, his brother Loy Hayes, his brother-in-law Glen Barton all of Cheverly MD, his best friend Kevin Deneroy of Orlando, his uncle James E Hayes, his uncle & aunt Jack and Fran Hayes, his cousins Wendy & Brent English, Shawn Hayes, Eric Hayes, Corey Hayes, Blake English, Abby English, & Jackson Hayes.
He was the beloved grandson of the late Mr. & Mrs. Leo V. Seagraves & the late Mr. & Mrs. Loy E Hayes and also the great nephew to Eileen Forbes who passed away February 16, 2016.
A service celebrating Van's life will be Saturday, February 20th, 1:00 PM at Tuckston United Methodist Church, Athens GA. The Rev Terry Walton and Mrs. Barbara Davis will lead the service. Family will receive friends on Friday night February 19th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Lord & Stephens Funereal Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Van's name.
