Mineral Bluff - Jimmy E. "Jim" Crane, 71, died February 19, 2009.
A native of Fulton County, Ga., he was a son of the late James and Virginia Crane and was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Crane. He was a longtime resident of Bogart, Ga., before moving to Mineral Bluff ten years ago. Mr. Crane was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and the United States Army and was a retired building contractor and poultry farmer.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 21, 2009 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the funeral home. No services are scheduled at this time.
Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Elaine Crane; two children, Mark (Susan) Crane of Raleigh, N.C., Ginger (Lamar) Evans of Bogart; sister-in-law, Ann Crane of Eldorado, Ga.; two grandchildren, Ashley Smith of Valdosta and Dell Evans of Bogart; several nieces and nephews and beloved pet, Jay Jay.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made "In Memory of Jim Crane" to St. Mary's Hospice House, 1660 Jennings Mill Road, Bogart, GA 30622.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
