Athens, GA - Rev. James M. (Jim) Irby, Jr., 91, of Athens and Florida, died June 14, 2008.
Jim was a graduate of Cincinnati Bible College and pastured churches around the country for 50 years. He was especially supportive of children's camps and orphanages.
His first wife, Jeannette, preceded Jim in death. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Register Irby; sons, Jary Irby (Robin) of Holiday, FL and James M. Irby, III (Ginny) of Stockbridge; sister, Bea Schrader of Holiday, FL; 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Brenda Brooks (Alton), Donna Presnell, Timothy Denton (Carrie) and Todd Denton (Shelly); 12 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in New Port Ritchie, FL,
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice House, 1660 Jennings Mill Road, Bogart, GA 30622.
