Jessie Ray Horton

Jessie Ray Horton, age 73, went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Ray was born in Augusta, GA, resided in Ringgold, GA, for most of his life, and moved to Hull, GA, in 2007, where he lived until his death. He was retired from Combustion Engineering, Chattanooga, TN, where he worked for 20 years. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Elaine Noell Horton; son Tony Horton and wife Tracy, brother James "Buddy" Horton and wife Debbie, step son & daughter, Dane Perry and Wendy Ellen Perry; grandchildren, Abby and Michael Horton, and Anna, Carolyn, Kathleen & DJ Perry, as well as many nieces & nephews whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary Margaret Brantley Williams and Roy Horton, sister Patricia Ann Horton, nephew Ervin Gay, Jr., and niece Renee Smith.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home West, Bogart, GA. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following in the Chapel at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oconee Hill Cemetery.
Dr. William K. Henry, pastor of Calvary Bible Church, Chattanooga, TN, will be officiating. Dr. Henry has been Ray's pastor and beloved friend for 26 years.
