Hull - Jerry Thomas Fields, age 56, died Monday, December 22, 2008 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Albert Vaughn and Rev. Morris Sapp officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Ashley Fields, Jason Fields, Wesley Fields, Donald Wilson, Thomas McDaniel, Eli McCarty and Paul Amason.
A native of Athens, Ga., He was the son of Opal Matthews Fields and the late Charles T. Fields. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brother Herman Fields. Jerry was the founder of Jerry's Lock and Key in 1989, but was forced to retire due to illness in 2006. He was a devoted father and loved by all that knew him.
Survivors in addition to his mother include, Children: Herman (Heather Novia) Fields, Jennifer (Adam Hayes) Fields, Kevin Fields, Rebecca Fields; brothers: Jimmy Fields and Johnny Fields; grandchildren: Chase Fields, Hunter McCarty, Clay Novia and Nathan Novia.
Visitation will be held tonight, December 23, 2008 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted.
